The mash-up we didn’t know we needed: Enjoy milk tea-flavored donuts at Poison Doughnuts

Aside from its super soft brioche doughnut, which I’ve always loved about Poison Doughnuts, it’s their new flavors that puts them on a different level altogether.
I thought the gourmet cheese donuts was my favorite donut series from Poison Doughnuts but earlier this week they launched a new series featuring MILK TEA! And I honestly cannot pick which doughnut I like the most!

There's the Matcha Oreo Doughnut (P120) which is a sourdough brioche doughnut stuffed with rich matcha milk tea custard then glazed with matcha white chocolate with Oreo crumbs around it. The matcha filling has the right amount of bitterness, which somehow highlights the sweetness of the glaze and the cookies.

The Brown Sugar Milk Tea Doughnut (P120) turns the popular milk-tea flavor into “bite-able” form. The doughnut is filled with a brown sugar milk tea custard then topped with torched salted cream cheese. The tanginess of the cream cheese is a nice contrast to the sweet filling! I think they also brûléed the top because it has something like torched sugar, creating a light crust around the doughnut and a contrast of textures.

The last doughnut in the series combines two crowd favorites: Ube and milk tea. The Ube Milk Tea Doughnut (P120) is filled with milk tea custard and real ube halaya (so eat it within 24 hours)! It’s crowned with rice crispies coated with ube-flavored white chocolate. I looove the textured of this one!
But see, words don’t do justice to the new series of pastry masterpiece from Chef Sonny Mariano and his team at Poison Doughnuts. It's best to try it for yourself.
Poison's new Milk Tea Doughnuts are available for dine-in, take-out, and delivery until January 3, 2023.
