I don't have any human kids, but the badass people at Bad Bird just launched their new kiddie Plate and sent over more new goodies to enjoy. I am forever grateful to the people who keep me well fed with great stuff.

Their new Kiddie Plate features Bad Bird's umami-bomb fried chicken (often imitated but never duplicated), which your kids can enjoy plain or Safe (a.k.a. with a little bit of heat). It comes with a serving of rice and two sides of your kid's choice: Torched Corn and Cheese, Honey Butter Sweet Potato, Sweet Potato Chips, or Hush Puppies. I got the Torched Corn and Cheese, which is always a winner, and their crispy Sweet Potato Chips. Such a good deal at P290, especially with their quality. If your kid (or – let's face it – you) don't feel like being finicky with chicken bones, the Kiddie Plate can come with their new Chicken Tenders.

Another no-fail kiddie treat is their version of Mac 'N Cheese, which packs the ooey gooeyness of three different cheeses and topped with crisp bacon and crunchy croutons for texture.

Bad Bird also launched their new Chicken Tenders Solo, which could satisfy any adult-sized hunger. They dredged juicy chicken breasts in their signature batter and fried it 'til GBD (golden brown delicious) and they're available in three levels of heat: Safe, Spicy, and Chemical. It comes with Sweet Potato Chips and their new Secret Sauce, which is so darn creamy and tangy and luscious, complimenting the crispness of the fried chicken and that tartness cutting through the grease (it's not super greasy, but come on, it's fried). I imagine this sauce would be even better with the Spicy Chicken Tenders.

As much as I love their fried chicken, Bad Bird's sides also (as the kids say it) slaps! Their Torched Corn and Cream Cheese is the tastiest way to calm the spice of the chicken and a platter of Dirty Rice with those bouncy umami-filled tamago cubes always go well with their chicken. Don't forget to wash it all down with their homebrewed iced tea!
If, like me, you don't have kids, you can still enjoy their new stuff on your own. No judgment. They're all available for dine-in or takeout at The Grid Food Market at Power Plant Mall, Rockwell, Makati City.
